TIPS: Practical Ways to Save

Tip Days will be Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our first month of tips will be devoted to Savings.

Here are a few practical ways to save:

Whether you are invited to a friend’s house or it’s a friend’s birthday, get creative and make the gift, the card, or the food yourself. Often we will just buy something to bring over. However nothing really says I love you, thank you, or happy birthday like a homemade card, or a picture collage. And what can taste more mouthwatering than homemade chocolate chip cookies…YUM…

TIP #19 -  RE-GIFT:  Also, don’t be afraid to re-gift! Go through your closets. If you see gifts that you yourself received that are pretty good but have never been opened because you have no particular need for them, don’t be afraid to give it to a friend. Otherwise the gift will be perpetually wasted.

TIP #20  - SHOP AFTER HOLIDAYS: Do holiday gift shopping after the holiday. That is when the prices seem to come down the most. Buy next year’s greeting cards now. Of course, unless you make your own card, which is even better.

Wednesdays and Fridays are recipe days! I’ll be posting recipes given to me by my next door neighbor, Chef Chumley. You can read more about him by clicking here. Come back tomorrow for another recipe!
