Wow! The first two weeks of our blog/website have just flown by! Four recipes, many simple tips on savings, a bunch of comics. We hope that you’ve enjoyed it all, so far.
How did you do with our second Weekly Challenge, to “Un-Brand It” and buy only generic? I must admit, I did a good job the first two weeks. During the first week, I made a conscious effort to turn off any lights that weren’t being used. I always knew that I should do that, but that was the first time that I really thought about it every time I left a room. It’s the same way with most of the tips that we’ve presented so far. Most of us know what they are. We just never really concentrate on them. That’s the purpose of trying to utilize them together.
During the second week I made a good transition from buying the familiar, comfortable brand names, to the generic store brands. Of course, a few of the name brands made it into my shopping cart if they were on sale, but that’s part the plan.
Tomorrow we will see what this coming week’s savings challenge will be.
